Now I am forced to use other programs (Apple Maps or browsers) to look for cities and this requires the net connection. It does not find a city by its name quickly. This BaseCamp seems to have one critical and several shortcomings compared to its predecessor. I loved the MapSource but Garmin decided to drop the development and to make users to migrate to the BaseCamp.

Naturally I spend hours (more than 60 hours yearly?) using the companion computer software (this BaseCamp or its predecessor, MapSource) to plan the trips. I have used Garmin GPS devices traveling through mostly Western Europe for the last nine years.
